Hey Alan, I think you pretty much nailed it. Article marketing is by far one of the best things I have ever done to give my small blog a tremendous push in almost any area that is important for blogging and making money online. It gave me backlinks, targeted traffic, great exposure, higher ranking and etc. What I dont understand is the fact that there are so many people who still debate over article marketing and aren't sure if its worth the effort. I think almost all of those who have tried article marketing would agree that its worth every second of time and effort you put into it.
I agree with you, and think that article marketing is great for getting a few links back to your site. I have done this several times in the past with great success.

In my experience, there are sometimes more effective ways of marketing than just article marketing - or any one e-marketing tactic, for that matter.
But you are right - article marketing is a good way to get some decent backlinks, it's just not the end-all-be-all of effective web marketing.
Article marketing is very effective the Internet is all about content that is why it is the information super highway.
